Saturday, May 13th

It was a big race weekend here at home with one of the tri-state’s largest races, spanning two states and one bridge and the weather cooperated for the most part. Congratulations to everyone who ran the 2017 River Run Half Marathon, 10 Miler and 12k, I for one hope that this is not the last we see of this unique race, and one more time a big Thank You to Jim Bush and his crew for all the hard work it takes to pull off this event and to Shari Kirkpatrick for her hard work in providing a great training program.

Congrats also go out to those who ran the Indy Mini on Saturday morning, which I failed once again this year to mention last week, I believe because I secretly want to run this race one more time (secret’s out), and Congrats to the group that ran the Strolling Jim 40 miler on Saturday.

I must echo the statements of others earlier in the week of how disappointing it was Sunday morning that instead of a newspaper filled with smiling finisher faces and cheering family members it was an article about closing the riverfront...….won’t happen here, I give you smiling finishers.....

Best of Luck to everyone running the Newburgh Rivertown Trail 5 & 8k, the Run for the Roses in Henderson and the International BBQ Fest 5k in Owensboro.

The Bridge fest continues with the Eastside route below, pedestrian bridge that is, cut back as needed, hope all the mother's have a great run and a Happy Mother's Day!

See You Saturday!

Congrats to those who ran the St. Jude Give Hope Run in Evansville, the Derby Marathon and Half Marathon in Louisville, the St. Jude Rock n' Roll Marathon and Half Marathon in Nashville, the Revel Marathon in Las Vegas Saturday, and the Hall of Fame Marathon and Half Marathon in Canton on Sunday as well as everyone who braved the weather here for the postponed River Run Training Run at Lamasco.

The training is over, it's time to take on the bridge, Best of Luck to everyone running the River Run this weekend, enjoy the trek from Henderson to Evansville and what my be your last chance to run the bridge for awhile. Good Luck also to everyone running the Flying Pig Marathon and Half Marathon in Cincinnati, the Pittsburgh Marathon and Half Marathon and the Strolling Jim 40 Miler Sunday.
