Saturday, September 3rd

A big group and a long run for the last Team 13 training run before the 15k and a bit of a cut back this Saturday, great as always to see so many making the trek across the Westside and a great route in which to see everyone several times, back to Wesselmans for the 10 miler in two weeks!

Congrats to everyone that took part in the YMCA Mind Body & Spirit Triathlon/Duathlon on Saturday morning and to the group that ran the final Run Under the Stars Endurance Run in the series Saturday night/Sunday morning in Knoxville, looked like a lot of hardware collected between the two events.

Good Luck to everyone running the second leg of the YMCA series, the 15k on Saturday, as well as everyone hitting the road for the Heartland 1/2 and 5k in Jasper and the Jackson Hole Marathon in Wyoming.

For those not racing this Saturday and looking for a few miles, below is a familiar 12 mile run on the Westside.

See You Saturday!

Saturday, August 27th

It was another big group for the Team 13 training run on what would be a wet, humid, hot and thankfully overcast Saturday morning. Thanks to Curt, Cindy and the rest of the Ultimate Fit crew for hosting the event!

Congrats go out this week to those who hit the road and the air and to a couple of BOR transplants around the states. To one of our many Colorado transplants, Drew Sills on the Pikes Peak Ascent and our Kentucky resident, Dave Nichols and team on the 4th place finish at the Hot Hot Hundred K trail relay Saturday, our own group of crazies who made the trip to Elizabethtown for the Backyard Classic 8 hour run, which had it's share of weather related obstacles, and Michelle W. on her marathon finish in Iceland, great run everyone!

Sunday was for the ladies, as a few of the women of the BOR took on the Leading Ladies Marathon in South Dakota, Great Run Ladies!

The men also did not disappoint on Sunday morning, bringing home the first Olympic marathon medal since 2004 and the renewed hope for a future in distance running for the United States, with the success of both the women and the men in the Rio Games we are sure to see a bump in the  popularity of the marathon and maybe even an American winner in one of the majors sooner than later.

Local Racing resumes this weekend, Good Luck to everyone running the Dog and Suds 5k and the PHI-K in Evansville and those doing the YMCA Tri in Warrick County, and Good Luck to those hitting the road to Knoxville for the last in the Run Under the Stars Ultra Series!

This week Team 13 moves back West to Mesker Amp., below is a 4/5 mile route from the Y to the start, and a return route to the Y which you can shorten as needed. I have included the 9 mile route from last year but I can't guarantee it will be the same this week, I will update if I get my hands on it before Saturday morning.

See you Saturday!

Saturday, August 20th

Well the women made it an exciting race on Sunday and it made for a great start to the week of Track & Field, now it's up to the men to hold their own this Sunday at 7:30 am.

Continuing the ladies theme this week, Good Luck and safe travels to the ladies heading West for the Leading Ladies Marathon in Lead, SD, where it's not reigning men but women!

This week Team 13 training moves to the Eastside for another try at an Ultimate Fit start, the first cancelled due to the heat, this week will be an 8 miler starting at 7:00 am! Same as before, I have included a 5 mile route from the YMCA heading out around 6:00am,, Walnut/Vann/Washington/Green River to Ultimate Fit, around 5 miles, return to the Y after Team 13 for 18 miles total, or there is a 14/12 mile option below. Comment or keep an eye on Facebook and Twitter for updates and car pool options for a ride back downtown if you don't need the return mileage.

See you Saturday!
