A Norma Tec Experience
by Jeffrey Hayden

Thought I would share a few words about my experience about the Norma Tec Leg Compression's that Ultimate Fit has at their shop. During one of my days off at Christmas break I promised myself that I would be treated with a half an hour of this talk of the town amongst runners. Cindy, Curt and Jim were very accommodating and set me up in a comfortable laid back chair with a leg stool to keep the limbs elevated.

The compression sleeves were very easy to put on and the instructions on to operate were quite simple. The compressor that operates the compressing part was surprisingly a very low hum. The settings for the compression on the legs and feet go from one to seven so I chose to operate on the number six level. It was a timely segmented compression that starts from your feet and works up thru the calves to your quads.

t works better than a roller or stick but my only complaint is while compressing my feet it was a bit painful on my bunions to which it never really allowed me to feel how it was working on my arches. The next time I will see if there is better ways situate my gnarly messed up feet to prevent that. Overall I was pleased with the session and would definitely try it again on the highest level. I will leave you with a few suggestions if you decide to give it a try;

                Number one is wearing some running shorts under your long pants or jeans for easy changing there on the spot. They do have a small change room if preferred.

                Consider bringing reading material be it your phone, magazine or book just to pass the time if you go for an hour session.

                Lastly keep in mind that this is similar to a massage so you want to drink plenty of water after the session to flush all the impurities out of your system that the compressing broke up.

Hope this helps if you were on the fence of this new apparatus.
