October 17, 2020

Our first free week out from the Half Marathon, and hopefully all of you are hanging in there to keep the training going!  Remember you have to keep you body in good shape all year to keep yourself ready for the races.  If you train for the annual race, you will work much harder and be sore more often than if you keep it going!  Get some warm weather training clothes, preferably layering to get you through the whole winter.  You can stay warm and get your miles just the same as summer.  There were a couple of the group that ran an ultra, Congrats Big Sexy for your 2nd over all Female place, and First in age group.  Some ran the Run with the Yeti race, and hoping all had a good time!

This weekend the BOR group will meet downtown at the Y, our usual place for the long run, and Run Walk 812, is meeting there too.  We will follow the route Shari is putting out, and adding in the middle to get the 12 miles we keep for a minimum.  Both groups will meet at the Y at 7 am.  There is construction on Walnut before and through U of E, but it is manageable.  The Loop Group, will meet at Friedman Park in Newburgh at 7 am.

This weekend in local racing, it looks like the Franklin Street Beer Run, starting at Leroy's Tavern.  There are still some Virtual races out there, so for the most up to date information, check out the links below.  Have fun out there!
