Saturday, January 30th


Well the past week certainly brought us some of the nastiest weather conditions and biggest challenges of the new year, in many ways. No matter if you chose the roads or the treadmill, congrats on getting it done on days that it would be just as easy to pull the covers back up and sleep until warmer temps arrive.   





Good Luck to everyone taking on the YMCA Indoor Tri on Sunday, looks like a sell out so it should make for a fun morning. Anyone interested in volunteering to help out with the event please contact the Downtown YMCA. 



This Saturday it will be time to run across the big town of Evansville. This one takes a little more planning because it is a One Way street. We have never had anyone stranded. We usually start at the Cracker Barrel - meet at 6:00am and decide who is driving and who is keeping their car behind. Most important in the planning is to make sure you are getting a ride with someone who matches your breakfast plans. 

If you start at the Westside Walmart the total mileage will be 12.2 miles, plus add-ons. Since this a longer course I am going to the 12 milers at 6:30 from Walmart and 9.5 miler from Pizza King at 6:45. If you want only to do the 7.5 miles starting from the YMCA you can start at 7:15am. If you are only doing 5 miles, my suggestion would be to meet at the Donut Bank on Lincoln at approximately 7:30.

 *Add on Alvord to Washington and back to Bellemeade or Plaza-end and back, can add approximately 1 mile each street.



This Saturday also brings the second chance to train on the trails at LBL. With the weather conditions this past week it may be a, wait and see, but as of post the plan is to once again meet at the Downtown YMCA at 5:00 am and be on the trails by 7:00ish. Check back here and on Facebook for updates closer to the end of the week.
