July 11, 2020

We're into the second weekend in July, and if you were hot already, prepare to get hotter!  Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate more!  If you can, find shady routes to run, and don't push too hard!

The past weekend, many were able to get a real race in, with a couple of local races, and on Tuesday, Team 13 got off to a start on the training toward a half marathon.  If you have not signed up, get signed up, and support a very worthwhile cause with great benefits!  Hope everyone had the expected results from their race, or had a good training run!

This weekend, much of the training is centered around a downtown start.  The BOR group will start from the Y at 6 am, and head to the Greenway for whatever you choose, a I am putting out a 12.8 mile route.  If you want less, cut off somewhere after getting off the Greenway at Stringtown, or Garvin Park, and head back toward the Y.  Run Walk 812 is having routes for before or after the Team 13 training for add-ons, of 2, 3, or 5 miles.  Team 13 is posting a 3 mile route, starting at the Old Y, at 7 am.  Whatever you run, be sure to carry sufficient water to get you to the end!

I don't see any local races this weekend, so if you know of one, post it to the BOR Facebook page so everyone can see!

Check your local race director sites to find any virtual races.

Rise up and Run

Team 13 has started, and if you haven't signed up, you can still sign up before one of the training runs, With a few modifications for safe running this year, it is still the best option for group training!  Thursday evening at 5 to 6 pm, or Saturday, before the 7 am start, at the Old Y downtown.  Check out the sites below for training or signing up for the series races.

Enjoy your run, and As always, be courteous and thoughtful to the drivers while running the streets!

Goal for 2020
Don't get the Covid 19 virus
And
Not to be Better Than Anyone Else,
But to be Better Than YOU Used to Be!
(changed, because it's not hard for you to be better than I used to be)

Curt, Cindi, and the Group at Ultimate Fit are open for those needing new shoes or equipment, so while checking out the Team 13 event, go in and check out the showroom. For logging all those miles, look to them for a pretty full line of hydration equipment as the weather heats up!
