There was a good turnout at Ultimate Fit for the kickoff training for the Peace, Run, and Harmony Half Marathon. Thanks to Curt, Cindi, and Jim Bush, and their crews for the giveaways, hospitality, and the water stops! We all look forward the remaining training Saturdays!
The two local races this past Saturday looked like fun, but cold! I can't remember a, Fly with the Eagles race being warm, but glad the government shutdown ended so the race could go on! The Hearts on Fire race, looked like it had some good times, and happy faces. Hope everyone enjoyed their race!
This week the BOR group will join up with Walk, Run 812, at Mesker. The 812, Peace Run and Harmony training will have a 4 mile route meeting at Mesker parking lot, with an 8 mile route add on available. The BOR group will start at the Y, at 6:20 to 6:30 and run to meet the group at Mesker for a 13.2, or 20 mile route.

Here is an opportunity to help out those in need, all while enjoying oneself! We are trying to get a group of runners together for a fun dinner/ dance, so talk it up, and join the fun! Get with Bradley Hayden for advanced tickets.
The Ozanam Family Shelter is hosting a Sock Hop as a fundraiser for the Shelter. The Sock Hop will occur at the VFW on Wabash Ave., Saturday, February 23rd; Tickets are $25 a person. A chicken dinner will be provided with your ticket.
o Doors Open – 5 p.m.
o Dinner Served – 6:30 p.m.
o Music/Dance – 7:30 – 10:30 p.m.
o Silent Auction closes – 8 p.m.
o Chance Auction closes – 8:30 p.m.
There will be a cash bar to get you out on the dance floor. We will also have auctions and half pots. I know $25 is a steep price for a chicken dinner, but this is a fundraiser. At least $12 from that ticket sale will go straight to the Shelter!
There were at least 200 attendees last year and we set a goal of 350 this year.
If you are interested, please let me know asap so I can reserve the tickets for you.
