Here we are at the last weekend in July, and moving fast toward August!  The heat and humidity are hanging around this week, and into mid week this coming week, and they are predicting a cold front to drop the temps down in below the mid 80's for a couple of days.

Last weekend we ran around the Team 13 training that started from Garvin Park, where they were up to the 4 mile long run.  It was warm and humid, but the rolling hills of the Greenway are great for training, and especially Evansville Half Marathon training, which uses lots of the Greenway for the race.  A few of the Ultra runners ventured to a race in the Indy area, for the 8 Hour Dream Endurance run.  It was hot, but they got through it with their usual charm.

This weekend we will again follow the lead of Team 13 for training starting from our favorite running store, Ultimate Fit.  If you are a Team 13 member, an email will give you the 5 mile route, but for the BOR Group, I am posting several routes you can use from the Ultimate Fit start, or if you want long miles, I will post the route from the Downtown Y out and back from there.  Be sure to carry water to stay hydrated while you run!

In racing, there are still a couple of virtual races that you can get signed up for if you hurry, as they have final sign up dates approaching fast.  See the sites below.  If you haven't signed up for Team 13 and still want to get there early for one of the Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday training runs and get it done.  If you want to get signed up for the Y Half Marathon race series, it looks like the first couple are going virtual for safety, so get signed up!

Curt, Cindi, and the Group at Ultimate Fit will be there Saturday for those needing new shoes or equipment, so while checking out the Team 13 event, go in and check out the showroom. For logging all those miles, look to them for a pretty full line of hydration equipment as the weather heats up!  I'm sure they will have so great sales, and probably some attendance prizes!
