This year keeps moving on, and we're on month 2 week 3.  It was another cold long run last Saturday, but we dodged the bullet on the snow and ice.  The miles went on for many, and after the run, pancakes at the Y for a few.  I know that I had my share!  

Looks like a few of our group made it out of town for races this past weekend too.  Martha and Laura ran in Maryland for the George Washington race, and saw some hills.  Drew and his band of Merry Women, were at Flora-Bama, and celebrated Sally's Birthday, meeting up with Jeff and Leah Alvey for the fun.  I was considering that race, but missed the bus, and all the fun that goes with that group! Congrats to Drew on his Grand Master win at the Sea Turtle Half in Gulf Shores!  Michelle Moreland Walker ran the El Paso Marathon, and placed 1st in her age group!  Congrats Michelle!

This weekend we have a couple of things going.  Don't forget to sign up and run the Bound the Mound race on Saturday, and if not racing, the BOR group will meet up with the Peace Run Harmony group at Ultimate fit again.  I'm sure Curt, Cindi, and Jim Bush will have lots of good deals and giveaways to those joining the training!  There is an 11 mile, and 16 mile route posted along with the 5 mile route from PRH.  The Loop Group is taking time off to put on Bound the Mound, so volunteer or race there!

On a sad note, we lost one of the group this past weekend, Steven Titzer passed away in his sleep.  Our heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to those in his family and close to him!  I personally didn't know Steven, but saw him running in the group and at Tri events.  I am told that he was a faithful servant to God, and an outright good person.  He will be missed!

If you haven't bought tickets for the Sock Hop in support of the Ozanam Family shelter on Saturday, contact Bradley, or Jeffrey Hayden for information and tickets.  Looks like a fun group will be going from the BOR.  It will be at the VFW post on Wabash Ave. $25 a person. A chicken dinner will be provided with your ticket.

o Music/Dance – 7:30 – 10:30 p.m.
o Silent Auction closes – 8 p.m.
o Chance Auction closes – 8:30 p.m.

There will be a cash bar to get you out on the dance floor. We will also have auctions and half pots. I know $25 is a steep price for a chicken dinner, but this is a fundraiser. At least $12 from that ticket sale will go straight to the Shelter!
